Add Material

Material can be added in ELM as employee material or material for a contractor.

PREREQUISITES:

  • If you are using Storeroom, users must belong to a storeroom group in order to manage material in ELM. To manage storeroom groups, see Groups in the Storeroom 2.3 Guide for more information.

IMPORTANT: Material UIDs that contain a mix of letters and numbers must use uppercase letters for the material to appear in ELM.

  1. Open the desired work order(s). See Open ELM for more information.
  2. Click the Add Costs tab.

The Date at the top of the Add Costs tab is automatically populated with the current date and time, but can be changed if needed. The date and time entered here is automatically applied to any labor, equipment, and/or material added unless the date and time is changed in the Advanced section. If only one task was selected in the Tasks panel, you can click Task Dates to have the dates and times from the task automatically applied in the Advanced section of the Labor panel, and it sets the hours for the labor down to the minute.

NOTE: Task Dates only apply to employee labor, not contractor-provided labor.

  1. If desired, select an Account to associate the labor, equipment, and/or material to. The account selected here is automatically applied to any labor, equipment, and/or material added, unless the account for those entries is changed or removed in the Advanced section.
